here is a close up shot of a female Ruby-throated hummingbird at my feeder. You can really hear the humming sound that her wings make.

This is a great high definition close up video of a hummingbird drinking nectar from a bird feeder near the Indiana Dunes State Park in northwest Indiana.

Saturday afternoon at the backyard Dr. JB’s Hummingbird Feeder. These are mostly young Hummingbirds born this past Spring 2011. We usually go through 3 1/2 cups of sugar a week at this one feeder alone. This video was taken with a 2nd Generation Flip MinoHD. It has been an awesome Amazon.com purchase, so easy to use and take videos of our ‘Kids’ at the feeder!

We love all of nature, Cindy takes photographs and I take the videos. It’s sad to think that so much of nature is now threatened. These little hummingbirds – priceless.

I can’t imagine the forces and muscle control it takes for these birds to hover or fly backwards. We’ve just added some bluebird vid: ca.youtube.com
