HUMMINGBIRD SETS WORLD RECORD
On September 6, 2009, this Hummingbird set a World Record of continuously setting on a hummingbird feeder. This feeder was in Dianes Garden located in Waxahachie, Texas. This video is dedicated to all those who struggle with mental illness and all those that work so hard to help them. This video was taken on my sisters birthday who went to heaven earlier this year. Good luck to all those that try to break this World Record. HUMMINGBIRD WORLD RECORD RULES (Rule # 090609CSOHF) 1.Camera must be hand held. 2.Lens of camera must be two feet or less from hummingbird. 3.Hummingbirds feet must continuously touch feeder. 4.Video must be posted as a response to this video. Does anyone know what kind of hummingbird this is (black-chinned or Ruby-throated)

@Mullikaji1 Thanks so much for your nice comments. You are appreciated.

Alen’s Hummingbird
Selasphorus sasin
An uncommon spring / summer / fall migrant through the mountains of the county.
They are virtually impossible to identify in comparison with Rufous Hummingbirds unless by an expert doing so in the hand. There are subtle differences in tail pattern, tail feather shape, tail feather width, and other identification characteristics of these two species.
BTW why do you say”dedicated to those who struggle with mental illness”?
I think he was worn out. I think if I would have stuck my finger out he would have climbed up on it. I was at a house yesterday in Waxahachie and there were around 25 hummingbirds. WOW Thought I would never see that many together.
Not sure what kind of Hummingbird that was but they are migrating to the South now so maybe he was in flight for a long time and stopped by your house for a long cool drink
Great footage though! He wasn’t afraid of you that close so he must have been parched! There about gone now from this area in Northern Ohio.
wow you were close to him how cool!!!
